The people of Forpolis

Ing. Tomáš Sýkora, Ph.D. – Founder of Forpolis

Tomáš Sýkora graduated in Public Administration and Regional Development at the Czech University of Agriculture, while his previous bachelor’s degree was completed at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences at the Jagiellonian University.

Throughout his nearly 20 years of working life, he has been involved in regional and local development (specifically strategic planning and cohesion policy).
He has worked both in the public sector (local and regional government) and in the consulting business before finally finding his roots in the academic world.

Ing. Martin Domín – Secretary of Forpolis

Martin Domín graduated in Regional Development and Public Administration at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Jagiellonian University, where he also works as an internal PhD student. During his PhD studies, he focuses on the transformation of coal regions in the context of decarbonisation.

From 2020, together with Tomáš Sýkora, he takes care of the organization of Forpolis events and its promotion not only at the FSE but also outside of it.

In his civic life, Martin Domín is the principal of an elementary school and a representative of the Statutory City of Most.

Ing. Natálie Čermáková – Assistant of Forpolis

Natálie is a master’s graduate in Regional Development and Public Administration and currently a doctoral student in Applied Economics and Management at our faculty. She significantly helps with organizational matters associated with the implementation of all activities of the Forpolis Research Center.
